Mayford Village Hall has for many years provided leisure & educational facilities for the Village and the wider community.TheTrusteesarealwaysseekingwaystoimproveontheavailablefacilitiesandhavenowdeterminedthattheprovisionofa Defibrillator at the Village Hall will be welcomed by all.Nowuniversallyacceptedasalifesaver,adefibrillatorisoneofthefewitemsofadvancedmedicalequipmentthatcanbeusedtosave lives by anyone without extensive medical training.Inordertoprogressthisinitiative,the TrusteesengagedwithLondonHearts,acharityaimingtohelpandsupportcommunitieswiththe provisionofheartdefibrillatorsandtoteachCPR/defibrillatorskillsandweresuccessfulinsecuringa£300granttowardsthe£1,500 costs of purchasing, installing & maintaining a defibrillator.In addition, £500 has been donated from the Kinch Fund as the money was not able to be used for the annual Mayford Over 60’s Tea Parties in 2020 & 2021 due to Covid.The Trustees have agreed that a number of fund-raising activities may be held to raise the remaining money to complete the project.
Friday 4th February - Light-hearted QuizThanks to everybody involved in putting on this very successful evening and to those who supported it by coming along.Themoneyraisedatthiseventfarexceededourexpectationsandwewereoverwhelmedbythegenerosityofthosewhocontributed a total of £961 from tickets sales, raffle tickets & donations.Thisamazingamountofmoneywilladditionallyallowustosourcetrainingsessionsforusingthedefibrillatoraswellascovering service & maintenance charges in the future.Thank you all for your support.Friday 4th March - Around The World in 80 Minutes, Wine Tasting EveningMany thanks to Larry Caffrey for hosting this event for 40 wine enthusiasts to boost the defibrillator fund by £330.Thanks to all those attending & organising this evening.
Mayford Village Hall
Mayford Village Hall is managed by a Trustee Group of unpaid volunteers and is situated between the Surrey towns of Guildford and Woking.The hall is available for public hire at times when it is not being used by local clubs, societies and organisations.
